Music Explorers
A musical adventure for young children! 🎵
The Music Explorers programme is designed for young children who are curious, creative and ready to discover the world of music in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.
Led by Mr. Mark Vella, an experienced educator and musician, the programme introduces children to the foundations of music through singing, movement, games and hands-on activities, while helping them develop creativity, confidence and early musical skills.
Sessions will take place with Mr. Mark Vella on Fridays as follows:
- Juniors/Seekers: 16:00 – 16:45, alternate weeks
- Adventurers: 16:45 – 17:30, weekly
🎵 Course Groups
Music Explorers Juniors
For children born in 2022 (Kindergarten 2).
Fortnightly sessions running from October 2026 to August 2027.
Music Explorers Seekers
For children born in 2021 (Year 1).
Fortnightly sessions running from October 2026 to August 2027.
Music Explorers Adventurers
For children born between 2018 and 2020 (Years 2–4).
This year-long programme consists of:
Part 1: October 2026 – June 2027 — 45-minute weekly group sessions
Part 2: June 2027 – December 2027 — 20-minute weekly individual lessons on a chosen instrument
Adventurers will also have the opportunity to participate in the Christmas Matinee.
🌈 What Will Children Learn?
Through fun and practical activities, children will:
Discover the elements of music, including rhythm, tempo, melody, dynamics and articulation.
Learn the basics of music notation, including musical notes, the stave and solfa.
Develop the ability to perform simple rhythms and melodies.
Explore the different families of wind band instruments, including Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.
👶 Important Information
Each class is limited to 8 children, allowing for individual attention. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with a waiting list opened if necessary.
To receive a certificate of participation, students must attend at least 80% of the sessions.
📝 How to Register
To join Music Explorers, your child must:
Be born in the appropriate year for their chosen class.
Have at least one legal guardian who is a paying member of the Għaqda Mużikali Marija Bambina, Banda Vittorja, Naxxar.
Complete the online application by Sunday, 20 September 2026.
A €50 registration donation is requested upon registration.
